EDUCATION / OUTREACH
The Pharan Studio Public Programme is aimed at supporting all ages and groups of society, from adult education through talks, screenings and events to lectures and workshops for local schools and universities. The programme places art at the core, taking the mandate that ‘education is not about the learning of facts, but about training the mind to think’* as its precept.
Although some may regard art education as a luxury, simple creative activities are some of the building blocks of development. Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics may be more important than ever to the development of the next generation of children as they grow up. We believe that art has the potential to inform all areas of society, feeding into every profession and cutting across racial, cultural, social, educational and economic barriers whilst enhancing cultural appreciation and awareness.
